Choosing Gourmet Foods to Complete Gifts

Written by on December 12, 2013 in Food Treats, Gourmet Gifts with 2 Comments

Gourmet-Foods-Complete-GiftGift ideas are something we all look for. Adding gourmet foods is an easy way to make a more complete gift. Simple things can complement or accessorize your gift. Here are some suggestions and ideas to get you started.

Suggestions for Gourmet Foods

For years, I have been choosing gifts that can have a food complement. Giving a gift of a tea pot or tea set has a natural gourmet food accessory of a tea sampler. Anyone who likes tea enough to enjoy receiving a tea pot as a gift will love trying new teas.

Family gift ideas can include charming cookie jars along with a collection of gourmet cookies to fill the jar. Don’t you know the children in the family will love that. Giving the gift of a small kitchen appliance can be complemented with a package of the kind of food to be cooked. For example, a rice steamer could have a package of some fancy rice to go along with it.

More ideas can include:

  • Popcorn popper with gourmet popcorn to pop.
  • Coffee Bean grinder with gourmet coffee beans to try new flavors.
  • Bottle of good wine with several dark chocolate packages to taste with it.
  • Waffle maker with a package of Belgian waffle mix.

These ideas should help you get your own creative juices flowing for gourmet foods you can add. Anything that complements another item makes a more complete gift.

More Packages to Open with Gourmet Foods

In our household, we love to have lots of packages to open. Whether it’s the gifts under the tree at Christmas, or the collection of birthday gifts. By choosing gourmet foods to accessorize your gift, right away you have at least 2 packages. And we all appreciate opening extra gifts.

Even the fun of finding multiple items in one box works. We always enjoy going through a larger box and discovering more. There is delight in that gifting as well.

Be Aware of Your Recipient’s Needs

When you look for gift ideas, we usually take into consideration the needs of our recipients. The things they like, the hobbies they have, even the d├ęcor themes that they use. Consider other things as well. If you are looking for a gift for a diabetic, sweets are not a good choice. Nor are they for someone you know is trying to lose weight.

Also, be careful about specific food allergies. Gluten and nuts are big considerations. In addition, people who are vegans or vegetarians will not appreciate meat gifts.

You can have more fun choosing gift items when you take their needs into consideration. Adding gourmet foods to complete your gift makes the whole process more creative for you. And more fun for your recipient.
